Just a quickie update/correction, coming to you from scenic Bradley International Airport, where I sit half-asleep waiting to fly to Gen Con.

On Friday, shortly after I adjusted my ebook listing and updated my cover image, Amazon cancelled my pre-order for “Kaiju Agonistes.” I demanded a live person on tech support, and they were very prompt and friendly, and they at least confirmed the cancellation was in error and there would be no permanent penalties for my account.

Unfortunately, there’s no mechanism to un-cancel a cancelled pre-order. I had to relist the book, and everyone waiting to receive it just got a nice spoonful of inconvenience.

I am trying to think calming thoughts and not obsess furiously over the fact that I had nearly two hundred people poised to receive that baby the moment it launched, which would have put it on various charts and attracted more attention and launched all the virtuous cycles writers love to watch like spinning wheels at a casino. Now everyone who made that arrangement has to decide to buy it again, or not.

This is a tiny problem relative to the scope of my extremely fortunate career. I just really hate it when people who support me have their time wasted.

The book is now available; at least it got listed with relative alacrity, much faster than I had even hoped. I’m really sorry for the mix-up. You can grab that baby right here.
