I need to watch the miniseries again. I remember liking it, TV corniness aside. And some characters are etched into my mind. Though a few from the book remain in memory as they did when I imagined them.
This was fun and fully confirms my suspicions about Molly Ringwald. As a teenager in the 90s, I also read 'The Stand." Even kids who hated reading read "The Stand." I suppose because King was a horror writer, his books were kind of bleak & macho, and the stories were embedded in popular culture, I remember King as pretty much the only writer whose books you could read on the school bus without fear of GBH
