That opening sentence is so so good. And the names! Collisti Seren - how do you manage to come up with names that sound so musical and so forboding at the same time? And the dialogue…you’re so good at banter you should be made an honourary European. “Sir, you are a pigeon’s worth of meat hung on a wood-shaving.” - Monty Python couldn’t do better.
I don’t know if anyone’s ever told you this, but you’re rather good at this writing thing.
Excellent. Ill have you know that my computer passwords have been variations of your characters names for 15 years or so. Also, that you could write pure swill at this point and i would suck said swill down and greedily demand more. “MORE SWILL!” I’d say. But this is not swill, so I shan’t say say that.
I didn't realize how much I missed this until Locke was called a scuffed turd (and everything leading up to it, really) and I couldn't stop smiling. Thank you for this!
I was reading this update while the hubby was driving. I then had to start over and read it aloud because I'd been laughing so much he had to know why...
It's been a lovely reunion with the Twain (hat tip to Leiber). I can only hope Michael Page continues to narrate the forthcoming releases, because I can't hold a candle to his performances!
Every odd year or so, I check on my favourite authors (yep, you are still one of them) and artists...
If there is ever going to be more gentleman bastards novels or novellas, they will be worth any wait. If not... well, we at least had three darn good books.
So - thanks for those, and fingers crossed stuff will be working out better for you this year!
Not only do you still "have it", you're better than ever! So happy to see the news and your writing again.
“Sir, you are a pigeon’s worth of meat hung on a wood-shaving.”
I’ve missed your writing so damn much.

Holy shiiiiiiiiit, okay–
This is not a drill
I'll print it and re-read it to make it real.
It's been a hard week–she said on a Wednesday–and this just brought tears of joy to my eyes.
*please excuse this very calm comment*
Bravo! I cannot wait to reenter the world of the Gentlemen Bastards. I shall drink--moderately--to your health!
